Good afternoon everyone,

Today, I would like to talk about one of my favorite topics, which is travel.

For me, traveling is more than just visiting a different place, it’s about immersing myself in the culture and getting to know the locals. I think that traveling is a great way to broaden our perspective and knowledge about the world.

One of my favorite destinations so far has been Japan. I was amazed by the politeness of the people and the vibrant culture in Tokyo. I visited many temples and shrines, tasted delicious sushi and sashimi, and even participated in a traditional tea ceremony.

Another memorable trip of mine was to Egypt. It was incredible to visit the pyramids of Giza and learn about the ancient Egyptian civilization. I also had the opportunity to sail down the Nile river and witness the stunning landscape of the country.

Of course, traveling also has its challenges. Language barriers, cultural differences, and unexpected situations can arise. However, I believe that these difficulties are what make traveling so exciting and ultimately, rewarding.

One of the things that I have learned from my travels is that it’s important to be respectful of the local culture and customs. This means dressing appropriately, learning some basic phrases in the local language, and being open-minded about different ways of life.

In conclusion, I think that traveling is one of the most enriching experiences that a person can have. It allows us to appreciate and understand different cultures, connect with people from all over the world, and create unforgettable memories.

1) A: Good morning. I don't think we have met before. May I introduce myself? I'm Tom.

B: Nice to meet you. My name is Bella.

2) A: Hi! Nice to meet you. Nice day, isn't it?

B:Yeah, couldn't be more pleasant. Nice to meet you, too.

与原句意思相近的表达还有：

It's wonderful to see you. It's lovely to meet you.

与之对应的回答有：

Same here. Likewise. Same to you.

与陌生人搭讪时，老外通常喜欢用天气作为开场白，最后结尾时会说Nice meeting you.(很高兴认识你。)或者Nice talking with you.(很高兴与你交谈。)

千万要注意这句与Nice to meet you.是有区别的，后者主要用于开始一段对话，Nice meeting you.则意味着结束一段对话。

这么说，有时对方只是张开双臂，说一句Come here，也是要拥抱一下的意思。

这句话还可以说成：

Give a squeeze. Give me a bear hug.

与此类似的一个表达是Give me five!意为“击个掌吧!”它是Give me five fingers!

的缩略形式，意指双方举手相互击掌，用于打招呼或者相互庆贺。因为是举手击掌，所以也称为high five。

有时，好友相遇也会用What's up?来打招呼，但是在使用时需要注意，What's up?有时也用来询问发生什么事情了，相当于What's going on?或者What happened?

想表达自己目前生活一般，没什么可抱怨的，老外一般会说：

up to单独使用的时候，有“直到，多达”的意思，如：

如果要表达”这些小孩子一样大”还可以说：These children are of an age.其中an还可以替换为the same。

同龄人可以用peer或peer group表示，如：

I'm their peer.我跟他们同龄。

如果说某人看起来比实际年龄大，则可以说：

She looks older than she is.
